The Dark Side of the Moon: Mugwort Flower Essence
I was very surprised when I learnt from the Fae that I was to write about my Mugwort essence this month.
Some essences are made and never released publicly and some, in the case of Mugwort ,are just biding their time before they walk out into the public arena. And so it is sometimes with flower essences! It is always the Plant Spirit that decides when and how and directs me. So Mugwort. What can I say? I made this for my private journeying with the Moon. Named after the Moon, “Artemisia Vulgaris” its Latin name is derived from the Goddess Artemis also known as Diana, Goddess of the Moon. It is easy to see why when we inspect the underside of its deep green leaves, which reveal a perfectly silver colour. Referred to as, “The Mother of Herbs” it is one of the most revered and magical of herbs. Traditionally placed in travellers’ shoes for protection on long journeys and hung in doorways at Midsummer to protect dwellings from evil spirits, it brings prophetic dreams. As such, it was often burned as incense at night or placed in dream pillows in order to facilitate lucid dreaming, open psychic gateways and enhance intuition. I often sup it at night as a tea if I wish to enhance my dreamscape. Moreover, Mugwort is a herb of the Divine Feminine because it links us to the Moon and the Moon is Divine Feminine energy personified. Mugwort has traditionally featured in connection with female cycles for this reason especially as it connects us to the lunar current. Of great significance if there is imbalance to our inner masculine and feminine energies through any inner child or inherited lineage wounds. Sadly, most people in the Western World carry such wounds. As a flower essence, it is also pivotal in helping healers and psychics clear any fear around using their psychic gifts as it aligns the third eye and crown chakras. I made my Mugwort flower essence on the Scorpio Full Moon last year to start my own private journey with the Moon. Hold on for a deep journey; not just into your shadow side but with yourself. This was such a powerful essence that I only took it for a few weeks but rather like a lunar eclipse: its reverberations continued for months! It really shook my world up but all for ultimate healing and deep insightful learnings. And that is part of its gift. However early or far you are on your spiritual path. It will always bring you the insights that you need most. It doesn’t promise to make this comfortable, but it will effect massive spiritual insight. I know intuitively that I have worked with Mugwort over many lifetimes and have benefitted from its gifts as a result of such journeys: in this lifetime as spiritual sight. Clairvoyance is my strongest psychic sense.

You will be enthralled with what occurs.
