Even her name arouses fear in the best of us. Night. Shade. We have been conditioned in the West to be fearful of what our eyes cannot see. Taught that what we don’t want to see or feel should be vanished into the Unseen and the Unseeable. That what is dark and unclear to our eyes must contain all that we fear and do not wish to know. As a child I was not afraid of the dark. It kind of made me different as I was conditioned by all I saw, read and heard at that time to fear it. Always the rebel, I recall that I deliberately trained myself not to be afraid of the night! In doing so, I reframed how I approached it and that goodness or God/Goddess might also be found within it. I suppose the same may be said of poison. Just as the dark may also hold goodness, then so may the poisonous still be capable of healing as well as harming. At this point I won’t divert into my many lifetimes as apothecary, wise woman and High Priestess where I learned to work with poison as in my capacity as healer. It is a basic premise of homeopathy that a tiny dosage of what is poison to our system may stimulate its healing. I am not a homeopathist but many homeopaths work with flower essences as these work on the same principle of dilution. This is my absolute favourite time of year! Since a child I loved Halloween more than Christmas (which was strange for people to conceive of in England in the 1980’s!). And I love to teach how we can work with everything that has been cast (mostly stemming from the Medieval Church) into the “darkness category” for our ultimate healing. For it is only by working with the darkness in ourselves or what some have termed the “shadow” that we may ultimately truly heal and ascend. I love that our Ancestors instinctively knew to turn inwards at this time of the year and use the increase in dark hours to work upon their own internal darkness. I teach much more about this in my Dark Goddess course, where we journey with a series of beautiful Dark Goddesses and their essences in order to work upon our shadow. It is my Bittersweet Nightshade essence that I made two years ago now at astrological Samhain (known more popularly as Halloween) that I would like to recommend for this turn of the year. It appeared outside the entrance to my friend’s home when I was formulating an essence for helping heal the Witch Wound. The Witch Wound, in case you are not familiar with this: is a wound that the psychically and/or spiritually gifted can carry from a previous lifetime where they were persecuted for these gifts and beliefs in a past time where such concepts were not tolerated. When a flower appears in this way, it is never by coincidence. We have drifted so far away from Nature that we don’t understand that flowers gift themselves to us in this way to give us a dose of what we need when we need it! So knowing that this was no coincidence, I made Bittersweet Nightshade using the non-cut method of flower essence making and chanelling this precious plant. It did not let me down either! It is such a powerful healer of the witch wound that I have had psychics dream of my Bittersweet Nightshade essence and contact me from around the country, declaring that they need to order it from me. For myself and the people that have taken it – those that were brave enough – it has helped clear old fears especially from the throat chakra around speaking up and using their healing gifts. It helps remove curses and hexes. For poison then treat with poison! It truly is an amazing essence and of course does not contain any of the Nightshade poison, only its essence at a vibrational level. My essence is perfectly safe to imbibe as it contains nothing of the plant; only its energetic vibration and it is only safe when made by an experienced advanced flower essence practitioner like myself so please don’t make your own as you do so entirely at your own risk. This plant is potentially fatal so please be extremely cautious around any Nightshade plant. I cannot stress this too much! Energetically, it is powerful medicine, so please be ready to work on your shadow side if you decide to take it. However, know that the benefits of doing this work will accelerate your healing journey! Here is an excerpt from my website describing Bittersweet Nightshade: This amazing essence was made when it appeared at a friend's entranceway; out of the blue, synchronistically, when I was looking to make an essence to heal the Witch Wound. I know this essence will form part of a combination of powerful flower essences that will heal all aspects of this deep gash for many healers and psychics but for now it is giving its powerful contribution, solo. Many of us have had lifetimes where we have been betrayed by those closest to us for speaking only the Truth. I know I have had many lifetimes where I was a High Priestess, Wise Woman, Shaman, Cathar and was burned, drowned, tortured, hung etc for my beliefs and practices that were only to help others. These powers were not approved of by the Church and they and others in authority were fearful of people like healers and psychics and their abilities as they threatened their power. Many of us have fears that have carried over from these lifetimes where we were persecuted for trying to help others and spread Truth. These carry over into subsequent lifetimes as fear of being seen, heard, speaking our Truth, healing others, or trusting others especially other women who often turned on each other to survive. For me this manifested as not being able to speak in public for my early years despite being a natural extrovert and speaker. The Golden Age is coming where we can heal this and heal this in our lineage. This essence was of course made using the non-cut method. It works directly upon the mouth and throat area and pulls out old hexes and curses from here. It frees the mouth and throat area to be razor clear about what it is that wants and need to be said: unclogging the throat chakra DEEPLY. It helps you to be heard and seen and after journeying with this powerful essence with my Moon Circle I also found that it unblocks the third eye trauma from this chakra too. An amazingly powerful healer. I love this essence in particular! And here is what the above mentioned psychic said after taking this essence: “I know I’ve not said this before, but I believe that I got zapped in the throat by an unscrupulous witch about 7 years ago and I’ve been working on releasing/healing/transmuting it… and I’ve been STUCK banging my head against a wall for a loooong time! And after about 10/12 days of bittersweet nightshade and few days of hellebore essence I’m starting to “move” it, so thank you thank you thank you”
Powerful stuff!
